Senior Supply Chain Project Manager

Overview

Experienced and motivated manager to identify our procurement needs across departments and build processes and relationships to support our ongoing supply chain needs. This position reports to the Head of Operations and Strategic Initiatives and works closely with other departments to ensure our finished products meet the needs of our customers and are in compliance with our regulatory obligations. This role is pivotal to our operational and financial success, ensuring operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility.

Responsibilities

Manage procurement and warehousing of goods and services for our expansion and production, including but not limited to consumables, capital equipment, and services

Develop and implement procurement, purchasing, inventory and warehousing processes and systems
including associated SOPs and documentation

Through the RFX process, research and evaluate suppliers based on best value including price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history

Identify, build and nurture relationships with vendors of materials, equipment and supplies to establish a reliable network of partnering vendors

Negotiate, or renegotiate, and administer contracts/agreements with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives

Evaluate and analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine best value

Ongoing contract management including contract cycle management, planning and execution. Support all internal stakeholders regarding supply chain matters, as required

Responsible for regular audits to reconcile contracts versus actual
Mine and analyze ongoing spending and operations patterns to determine opportunities for leveraging buying power, increasing inventory turn velocity, etc

Interview, hire, train and manage supply chain staff

Qualifications

3-5 years of progressive responsibility in supply chain role
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong organizational and skills and ability to manage competing projects and deadlines
Collaborative team player with strong emotional intelligence
Bilingualism is considered an asset
Proficient in computer and software systems including MS suite, including Excel
Experience with contract language and law
Experience with ERP systems is considered an asset
Experience in a food-grade/pharma/health care and production environment is considered an asset
